STOEX (Stockholm Excursions) runs guided day trips from Stockholm into the surrounding Swedish countryside, centered on Viking-era history. Its flagship Viking History, Runes & Countryside tour visits sites north of the city including the Jarlabanke rune stone bridge, the Arkil assembly site, Vallentuna church, the Viking-age settlement remains at Orkesta Granby Gard, and Granbyhallen, said to be Sweden's largest rock carving, with a stop for food and coffee at the farm cafe Hokeriet near Sigtuna. The company has run these excursions for roughly seven years, with guides providing on-site historical interpretation throughout.
