About
Having been born and raised right outside Washington, DC, attended school in Philadelphia, and lived and worked in NYC and its suburbs for the past 25 years, I have a strong connection to the Northeast Corridor. I have been forever curious, earning a degree in Japanese while simultaneously studying Decision Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania; and a long career at Martha Stewart Living honed my techniques for fastidious research, in-depth analysis, and passionate storytelling across a wide array of subjects. As a mother of two teenagers and former Girl Scout leader, I have discovered countless ways to have fun while traveling and feel that kinesthetic learning - hands-on, participatory, active involvement using all the senses - creates for the most engaging experiences. My most memorable travel adventures include looking, listening, and tasting what makes each place unique. Every place has multiple layers - its initial foundation, important milestones in time, its current inhabitants, and its context within the wider world, and I want to help people better understand, appreciate and experience the places where they travel. Most importantly, I love to have fun and meet new and interesting people - so let's connect!
Hobbies & Interests
I am an avid home chef and explore history and culture through new-to-me ingredients and techniques, attend Broadway and live theater as often as I can, and create "moving meditations" as a certified Yoga instructor.
Fun Fact
I have finished the NYC Marathon 4x (twice running on my own, twice as a volunteer guide for Achilles International)
