About
I began my career as a New York State Correctional Officer and retired at 35. Working here exposed me to so many different people and cultures from around the world, i was eager to learn more! I found myself gravitating towards the Jamaican culture and started to research and learn more about the country, history, people and culture. Since my retirement i have spent many years in Jamaica. I started out volunteering through Jamaica Volunteer program and then I began to live there on and off since 2015. In 2020, I married Marlon Evans from Jamaica and he has now migrated to the United States. I have learned so much from living in Jamaica and it has had such a positive influence in my life. I have since brought down 6 of my friends to Jamaica because I am so passionate about Jamaican culture. Unfortunately, I had not started to travel until I was in my 30s and wish I would have started younger. The experience and knowledge I have obtained from traveling is priceless! I encourage people to take the leap and expand their horizons at every opportunity presented.
